Sharif on the deadly consequences of arrogance
One could say that carbon causes global warming, but increased carbon use is a consequence of personal and social factors. Focusing only on carbon takes attention away from the broad mess of interconnected factors, including our cultural heritage of arrogance of believing that our life is separate from the world: slavery, abuse of the land and ocean, economics that subjugate others, wars.
The single most important thing that I can do for my planet is to recognize and minimize my own arrogance.
