Musings on China's attitudes towards democracy

A recent speech by George Yeo (Foreign Minister of Singapore) contains some interesting comments about China and democracy. China's attitude toward law and democracy is that a tool useful in some situations and not in others. Democracy is used at the village and township levels, but at larger levels governors are brought from outside to avoid favouritism between the government and local citizens. more
